This 12-week program begins with an abridged performance of A Shakespeare Play to be performed by all of the teaching artists the students will work with. The students will be involved in the presentation as audience participation is a big part of this particular production.

The class work then works to demystify Shakespeare and the dramatic form while providing each student with the tools to have a personal experience and relationship to the material. The exercises are usually process oriented, but depending on how important the ending performance is to the school and teacher we shift the focus of the work towards a product orientation in the final three weeks.
LYT brings the art of role-playing to your students to teach them about Conflict Resolution, Character building and Life Skills Training. The students have fun learning about improvisational acting while tackling issues that concern every young person, such as: Bullying, Peer Pressure and/ or Early Drug Prevention. Get your students talking about and dealing with the issues that concern them most.
In this 12-week intensive program the students will explore the structure of a play. They will learn to write their own play by using a basic fundamental structure. From the introduction to the rising action to the climax the students will gain knowledge and acquire the tools necessary to complete the project. The will be a ‘Staged Reading’ of the plays at the end of the program.
LYT will create programs to inspire your students using creative dramatics.
